Nowadays youth are making money while studying. Some may be fashion consultants; others may make creative bands or other accessories. A student makes leather wrist bands with sequins and spikes in it to give a stylish look. He started making wrist bands, belts or accessories for himself. Many of his friends liked his stylish leather wristbands and starting giving order. These accessories are very expensive if you buy them outside. So many students started giving him order. At a very young age he started earning money.

Another student studied jewelry designing as a part-time course and started distributing his designs amongst his friends and relatives. He started getting orders. “I was a little apprehensive about how people would react to my designs, as I would mix silver with a lot of beads and make it very colorful. Slowly, my client list has increased, and I also did the jewellery for my friend’s beach wedding!” says he excitedly.

Employees of Marks & Spencer’s will be wearing orange wristbands this Sunday for raising awareness among public. This Sunday is celebrated as “Poverty and Homelessness week” so that people could wear bright wristbands, with the message “Hope for Homeless”. Watford New Hope Trust is very delighted that a big concern like Marks & Spencer’s is helping their organization to support the cause. A store in Harlequin centre is joining hands with Watford New Hope Trust, to raise awareness for people who are sleeping on roads. Watford New Hope Trust has somewhere around 11 projects across Watford, including Haven Day centre and a charity shop in Hertfordshire on Queens Road. This charity organization provides home to 49 homeless each night. Many charity organizations who took part in poverty and Homelessness action week last year are happy to secure a partnership with Marks & Spencers for 2009.

Lawson Phillips died in 2007 due to Cancer was remembered on 21st January. People who loved him like his parents, and his family members’ together Junior Twisters football team and Bayou Meto Student council made a donation of nearly $10,000 to make a wish foundation in Mid-south. Funds were raised with the help of all these people. On November 2007, Lawson went into coma after being diagnosed with brain tumor. He did not make a wish and died after a month. Lorey Phillips said that the fund raised is used to fulfill another child’s wish that is in life threatening medical condition. Money that is raised from selling rubber wristband can fulfill wishes of two children. People from churches were asking for wristbands. Many people form Arkansas Children Hospital started asking for 25-100 wristbands through email.

Fans attending the cricket match can collect wristband from any one of the eight booths at the MCG. This wristband will be very helpful to police officials as they can identify patrons who are underage drinkers. Patrons have to show their Photo ID and get a wristband from any one of the booths. This new system would be very helpful to staff as they will know the age of the patrons, and patrons no longer have to show their Photo ID when they purchase alcohol at the bar. If an underage patron shows fake wristband then he/she will have to pay fine to Victoria Police. If patron goes to the booth drunk he will not get a wristband and the police officials can emit him from the ground. This new method will not only help bar staff in identifying underage drinkers but also stamp them out. This method is very helpful to Victoria police because if any major event happens in Victoria they can easily identify underage patrons. A total of eight booths have been set up, out of which one is located outside the MCG near gate five, and other seven booths are located inside the ground. Police officials can collect fines from patrons if they use any abusive language.

There’s going to be great fun in Brampton this holiday season. In the New Year’s Eve there is going to be fun for the entire family. Party will begin at 2.30 pm and run till 12.30 am with fireworks display planned for 9 pm and at midnight. In downtown Brampton there will be family entertainment, marshmallow roasting, ice-skating at Gage Park and 30-feet Ferris wheel and merry-go-round. To control pedestrian traffic in the downtown area, a wristband policy is being introduced. Wristband will enable Brampton residents to gain closer access to the main stage for the midnight visual display. Brampton residents can get a maximum of two free wristbands each from any of these areas: Rose Theatre Brampton, South Fletcher’s Sportsplex, Terry Miller Recreation Centre, Earnscliffe Recreation centre, Chris Gibson Recreation Centre and Cassie Campbell Community Centre.

There is going to be a New Year Eve family celebration in six avenues in Sylvania and Sylvania Township. First Light Sylvania wristbands are now for sale. The event will take place from 6 to 10 pm in 6 different venues on Dec.31. The event will feature children’s carnival, creation station, storytelling, clowns, guitar Hero gaming, ballet, and magic at several venues. The six different venues are Sylvania historical village, Sylvania Franciscan Academy, Wingate Hotel, Franciscan center at Lourdes College, chandler café, and St. Joseph’s church. Transportation will be available to take people from venue to venue. Children, who are over 3 years old, can get the wristbands for $5 at Meijer Sylvania location, Sylvania chamber of commerce, and the Franciscan Theatre & Conference center of Lourdes College. Olympics have inspired a group of teenagers to pursue a unique business idea. Five teenagers have planned to sell wristbands based on the ideals of olympic and Paralympic games. These teenagers have come up with a scheme called value bands, which would see them create a range of seven collectable wristbands made from rubber or fabric, and based on the ethos of the sporting events. The wristbands would be sold in covered cases so that consumers would not be able to see which color they were buying - an idea the group hoped would encourage children to trade the bands with friends until they collected a full set. Once a buyer had all seven colors, they would be eligible for a speical rainbow band in the olympic colors.

Bega valley residents are joining the international campaign to help make their local community a safer place for women and children. On December 5, 10-12 noon, local domestic violence community has organized a white ribbon day at Ayres walkway. Local service providers will be distributing information, white ribbons and ‘say no to violence’ wristbands. Men’s Choir will perform in Ayres walkway at 12 noon. ’16 days of Activism to stop violence against women’ is a part of an international campaign running from November 25 to December 10, which focuses on violence against women. In 2008 violence against women is still a big issue affecting the social, emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of individuals and families. A shopping center in Chippenham, has provided police officials, reflective wristbands which will be passed on to children of Corsham primary school. An officer visited the school as part of the National road safety week and distributed reflective wristbands. Fewer children went to school because parents were worried about their safety. These wristbands can assure their parents, that children are safe especially during the winter months when the dark mornings and early nights draw in. Reflective wristbands can educate children to Be safe, Be seen. This can provide support to police officials.

Fluorescent bands can be useful to young children who get lost while shopping late at night for Christmas in Shrewsbury. These bands will reunite the children with their parents. These bands can be placed around the child’s wrist on which the contact number is written, so if the youngster gets lost, police can quickly reunite them with their family. Police officials came up with this idea after being inspired by a similar scheme at the Shrewsbury flower this year. The band will have only contact details and not the name of the child or address details. If police officials found a lost child they have to just call up at the number on the band and reunite the child with the parent. Parents are really happy with this scheme because these bands can save their children when they are lost.
