Wristband transmitters
Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office is about to make finding individuals with autism or Alzheimer’s disease who’ve strayed from home a lot easier. Fairfield County is going to launch Project Lifesaver, a tracking system that uses radio frequencies and wristband transmitters to locate lost loved ones. The new system will reduce search time down by hours and possibly days. The average amount of time to find a lost individual wearing a wristband transmitter is 30 minutes. Individuals who participate in this program wear battery-powered, personalized wristbands law enforcement members locate with a mobile tracking system.

Drink responsibly wristbands
A young woman was arrested by Crestview Police Department officer because she hit a pole while driving. She and some of her friends got drunk at AJ’s in Destin earlier. They had driven her to Crestview and left her at her parked car, which was in a grocery store parking lot. “I wasn’t expecting to drive home” she told the officer. She thought that she has left the phone in her friend’s car and so she was “driving around in circles”. When the officer asked if she’d been drinking, ’she started to cry, the report said. The wristband on her arm urged her to “Drink responsibly”.

Wristbands reunite children
Safety wristbands help parents find their lost children. These wristbands have been introduced in Wells to reunite lost children. Parents have to just write a contact number on the band so that children can be easily traced if they wander away from them on the beach. These bands can be availed at free of cost from coast watch volunteers, who are supporting the Wells Safer Neighborhood Team (SNT) to help boost child safety. PCSO Andrew Dixon at Wells SNT said: “This is a system that has worked well before and through other organizations. It gives parents peace of mind that they can be quickly contacted in the event that their child wanders off and can be found. We would like to thank the volunteers at Coast Watch for supporting the initiative.”
