Interrupt Hunger has a symbolic color, orange.
Interrupt Hunger is the brainchild of Charlottean, Bill Jollie, who thought of the concept last fall after hearing a National Public Radio report on hunger in America. In certain regions like north and South Carolina over 360,000 people live in poverty. In this number, nearly 120,000 are children and 42,000 seniors. Interrupt hunger motivates people to lose weight by donating $1 for every pound they lose to second harvest food bank of Metrolina. The symbolic color of hunger is orange. Interrupt Hunger will offer its own orange version of the popular rubber wristband to support its cause. Additionally, this wristband serves as a behavior modification tool. When craving something unhealthy, take the wristband off and put it on the other wrist. This technique serves as a voice of reason and helps bring the person back to their focus of losing weight.

New Business Idea
Olympics have inspired a group of teenagers to pursue a unique business idea. Five teenagers have planned to sell wristbands based on the ideals of olympic and Paralympic games. These teenagers have come up with a scheme called value bands, which would see them create a range of seven collectable wristbands made from rubber or fabric, and based on the ethos of the sporting events. The wristbands would be sold in covered cases so that consumers would not be able to see which color they were buying - an idea the group hoped would encourage children to trade the bands with friends until they collected a full set. Once a buyer had all seven colors, they would be eligible for a speical rainbow band in the olympic colors.
