On this day in 1959, there was a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa, United States. Three famous American rock and roll musicians: Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P."The Big Bopper" Richardson and pilot Roger Peterson were killed in that plane crash.
