Rubber wristbands initial became popular after the infamous "Live Strong" wristbands for Lance Armstrong emerged. The bands were originally yellow, but now you can get these rubber wristbands in any color, with or without a phrase. If you would like to alter your rubber bracelet further, there are some tips and tricks you can follow to create a personalized band.Step 1
Place the wristband over a piece of newspaper on a counter or table, using your free hand to hold the wristband flat. Using a colored permanent marker, suspiciously write your name in a font of your choice---fancy printed or cursive, both work great.
Step 2
Blue and green, purple and red, black and white, or orange and yellow are all great color schemes. If you desire to keep it simple, try covering the band with various colored stripes or polka dots. For a more inspired wristband, try making little designs all over the band such as stars, swirls, hearts or a design of your choice.
Step 3
Lay out beforehand all the materials you'd like to glue to the band, creation sure there will be sufficient room to fit them all. You can add a few rhinestones, or slighter fake flowers look good glued to the bands, as do ribbon bows or even beads. Make sure the glue is entirely dry before you wear the wristband.
