The famous Livestrong wristband is a yellow Silicone Wristband that was launched in May 2004 as a part of fund raising item for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, founded by the cancer survivor cyclist Lance Armstrong. These Rubber Bracelets was a part of 'Yellow Live Strong' educational program, intended to raise cancer awareness, money for the cancer research and encourage people to live life to the fullest.
Till date nearly 70 million Livestrong Wristbands are sold both in packets of 10, 100 and 1200, and even individually at $1 each. The bright yellow color was chosen for its importance in cycling profession, as it is the color of his yellow jersey worn by the leader of the Tour de France. By the end of 2004, the wristband became extremely popular both in U.S and across the globe.
