Teal wristbands represent the courage to cope with ovarian cancer diagnosis. About 25% of ovarian cancers are found at an early stage. Early detection improves the chances that ovarian cancer can be treated successfully. Unfortunately, there is no reliably effective test for finding ovarian cancer early. Every year nearly 16,000 women lose their life due to this disease. But if treated early, 9 out of 10 women will live longer than 5 years after an ovarian cancer diagnosis.Each teal ovarian cancer awareness wristband carries the phrase "Say It! Fight It! Cure It!" or Unite to fight. Ovarian cancer is commonly formed in the outer lining of the ovary and less commonly in the egg cells. Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of death from cancer in women and the leading cause of death from gynecological cancer. Most women with ovarian cancer report abdominal pain or discomfort, an abdominal mass, bloating, back pain, urinary urgency, constipation, tiredness etc.
